How to Assign the Case Funder For Investigator

From the admin panel: Case funder is assigned to investigator when inviting them to the Circle.

From the investigator’s portal: The Circle administrator has the ability to select the case funder if this option is enabled in the admin panel.

Turn On the Ability to Change the Case Funder

The setting affects only the investigator’s portal.

Turning on the option will give the Investigator with the Circle admin role the ability to change the default case funder when inviting investigators to the Circle or via the option menu for the already invited investigators.

The investigator's portal offers a limited selection of case funders. Currently, investigators can only choose between two options: Circle funder or Subscription funder. The option to select "Other" is not available, which means that access to all the funders in the database is restricted.

To Turn On the Ability to Change the Case Funder:

  1. Navigate to Circles and select the required one from the list
  1. In the Case Funding field, switch on the toggle “Ability to change case funder”
When the option is off, i.e. the investigator with the Circle admin role does not have access to change the case funder, any investigator he invites to the Circle from the investigator’s portal will be assigned a default case funder for that Circle.

To Set the Default Case Funder

Investigators who join the Circle through the self-enrollment link will be assigned the Circle's default case funder automatically.
When inviting the investigator to the Circle via invitation modal, Circle admin can override the default setting if this option is on.
  1. Navigate to Circles and select the required one from the list
  1. In the Case Funding field, select the required default case funder:
  • When Circle Funder is selected, all cases created for this Circle will be charged to the Circle funder account.
  • When Subscription Funder is selected, all cases created for this Circle will be charged to the Subscriber’s funder account.

Change Case Funder

  1. Navigate to Circles and select the required one from the list. Once clicked, you’ll get on the Circle Details page.
  1. In the Investigators list click three dots next to the required investigator and select Change cases funder.

3. To specify the funder in the "Cases Funded by" field, simply begin typing the name and choose the appropriate option from the provided list of active funders.

4.Click CONFIRM ACTION

When the action is confirmed, the funder for the cases is changed immediately, so starting from this moment new case funder will be charged for the cases created by this investigator.

The information on the current investigator’s case funder is displayed in the Investigators list on the Circle Details page.

IMPORTANT:

  • If a Circle funder is selected as a case funder, cases are bound to the Circle funder entity regardless of who is actually assigned. The Circle funder can be changed and then new cases will be automatically charged to the newly assigned Circle funder.
  • The subscription funder works in a similar way. If the investigator's subscription funder is changed, their new cases will automatically be funded by the newly assigned subscription funder.
  • But if you select the option "Other", case funder becomes a permanent funder of investigator's cases. The Circle or Subscription funders can be changed but cases will continue to be funded by the funder defined as the "Other" case funder.
